Politics will reform with public-serving and moral politicians: Poudel

ram chandra poudelKathmandu / May 24: Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has said that leaders and cadres from the grassroots level should be people-serving and moral in order to enhance respect for politics.

Speaking at a seminar on ‘how can politics become a dignified sector’ organized by the Social Democracy Study Centre here Tuesday, leader Poudel said however the present politics in the country is just about the tussle for power, deceit, hooliganism and of false promises. Politics should instead be based on principle and be able to ensure equality and justice.

NC ex-general secretary Prakash Man Singh said if the lifestyle and conduct of the leaders and cadres are people-friendly then the respect of the political sector would increase.

Former Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat said politics is being criticized as there is increasing trend of using politics as a profession and not service.
