Former president Yadav stresses on stable constitution

president-ram-baran-yadavJanakpurdham / May 27: Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has underscored the need for a stable constitution for doing away with political complexities.

Speaking in a conversation with the students of the Baghchaura Higher Secondary School in Dhanusha district today, the former President said that that stability should be given to the constitution by addressing the dissatisfactions of the Madhesis.

He further said the role of all the parties would be vital in resolving the Madhes problem through talks, dialogue and the democratic process, expressing the belief that the problem could be resolved by means of constitution amendment.

In response to a question from the students, the former Head of State said the disparity and discrimination between the centre and the provinces could be removed if the future course of action is prepared as per the federal structure as it would ensure a judicious distribution of revenue.

He also pointed out the need of awareness and initiation in society to wipe out various ill practices like discrimination between son and daughter, child marriage, dowry system and unemployment problem.

Prof Krishna Khanal, journalist Rajendra Dahal, Prof Binaya Kushiyait and educationist Puranjan Acharya spoke of the need for all sides to take the initiation towards resolving the existing problems.
