Strike disrupts normal life

BandhKathmandu / June 9: The normal life in the capital city and other major towns has been disrupted due to the general strike called for Netra Bikram Chand led CPN Maoist.

The usually busy roads have donned a deserted look with only a few public and private vehicles plying the road. All the educational institutions, major markets and industries remain shut. Commuters were forced to walk long distance due to lack of vehicles.

At least 21 persons have been arrested so far from various parts of the city for enforcing the strike, Metropolitan Police Range Spokesperson, Superintendent of Police, Pradyumna Karki said.

He added that strike enforcers torched a taxi at Tinkune for defying the strike.  RSS
