Nepathya lands in Los Angeles for Saturday show
Kathmandu / June 24: Popular Nepali folk rock band Nepathya on Thursday landed in Los Angeles, as a part of their musical tour to the United States.
The band is scheduled to perform at the Barnum Hall in Los Angeles tomorrow and then at the Centre stage in Atlanta on July 2, according to Nepa~laya which manages Nepathya concerts.
The touring band would also attend the Association of Nepalis in the Americas (ANA)’s annual convention.
“We are delighted to welcome Nepathya in Los Angeles,” ANA Vice-President Dr. Shambhu Dhungana said.
The event is being organised by Friends of Nepal-Los Angeles and its proceeds would be spent for the welfare of the Nepali community residing there.
Amrit Gurung, the band’s front man, said performing at the Cine capital of the world for the first time is a matter of pride for the band and they were extremely delighted that the Nepali people in the US were preserving their culture.
The band had performed at the Manhattan Centre in New York last year, but had cut the trip short owing to lack of technical preparations.
Around 15,000 Nepalis live in Los Angeles while 40,000 reside in the state of California, according to Nepa~laya. Source: The Himalayan Times
