Statue of Bhanubhakta unveiled in Pokhara
Pokhara / July 13: On the occasion of his 203rd birth anniversary, a full statue of first Nepali poet Bhanubhakta was unveiled in Pokhara Sub Metropolitan City-11 in Kaski today.
Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama and chairman of Bhanu Bangmaya Institution, Pokhara, Sarubhakta unveiled the statue.
Addressing the programme, Sarubhakta said that the setting up of the statue of Bhanubhakta in the tourist city Pokhara would help open a way for the development of literature tourism in the city.
He also appreciated contribution of Bhanubhakta to Nepal’s integrity and a unity of caste and language.
At the event, various participants including West Regional Administrator Shankar Prasad Koirala, Chief District Officer of Kaski Hari Prasad Mainali, vice chairman of the institution Hanif Miya, Chairman of the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bindu Kumar Thapa, executive officer of the Pokhara Sub Metropolis Bhim Bahadur Kunwar and chairman of Pokhareli Youth and Cultural Family Suresh Ranabhat among others appreciated contribution of Bhanubhakta.
