NRA plans to rebuild 652 schools by this year

Nepal Reconstruction AuthorityKathmandu / July 20: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has planned to rebuild 652 schools flattened by the ‘Gorkha Earthquake’ within this year.

The Department of Education has already signed agreements with various national and international agencies towards that end, the NRA said.

As per the government data, the Gorkha quake inflicted damages in 8,308 schools across the country.

The NRA has also accepted proposals submitted by various NGOs, seeking permission to rebuild 337 schools.

Likewise, the Ministry of Finance has allocated Rs five billion, as recommended by the Ministry of Education, to the respective school management committees for the school reconstruction drive. RSS
