‘Our journey to ICC World Cup Selection match is not over yet’, Nepal National Cricket Team

Cricket TeamKathmandu / Aug 19: The National Cricket Team which had been to the Netherlands to play in the ICC World Cricket League has returned home today morning.

The team had played two matches with Netherlands in the fourth round of the ongoing League. It had won in one match against Namibia and faced seven-wicket defeat against the host country in another.

Speaking with the media persons at the Tribhuvan International Airport upon their return, the mainstay batsman Sharad Bheswakar stated that although they have returned home with no significant achievement in the League, their journey into the ICC World Cricket League was not over yet.

The team which was ranked sixth with six points in the ongoing League will play against Hong Kong, Kenya and UAE in another leg of same match that will be played after six months.

There are eight teams in the League including Scotland, Namibia and Papua New Guinea. The top four countries will get to play in the ICC World Cup Selection match to be held in Bangladesh in 2018.

Batsman Sharad Bhesawkar reaffirmed the team’s commitment to perform better in the upcoming match and make sure Nepal ranks among the top four countries in the League.

He pointed out the need to prepare well during this six month to deliver better in the match against the rest of the contender countries. RSS
