Dr Karki bags ‘Ram Prasad-Krishna Laxmi and Laxmi Shrestha Memorial Award’

Krishna Laxmi FoundationKathmandu / Aug 20: Dr Lochan Karki has received ‘the Ram Prasad-Krishna Laxmi and Laxmi Shrestha Memorial Award’.

Established by the Krishna Laxmi-Laxmi Shrestha Memorial Foundation, the award carries a purse of Rs 100,005.

Karki was given the award for his contribution to providing health care services to rural people.

Culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi handed out the award to Karki amid a programme in the Capital on Saturday.

Likewise, Dr Dipak Sainju, Dr Kamal Koirala and Dr Bhagawan Khadka were also honoured for their service to rural people. The Foundation is also set to honour President Bidya Devi Bhandari at her official residence in Shital Niwas on Sunday.

Meanwhile, lawmakers and political leaders like CPN-UML leader and lawmaker Sherdhan Rai, former Finance Minister Shankar Prasad Koirala and lawmaker Ram Hari Khatiwada, who attended the event, stressed the need for implementing the constitution effectively and driving the country on the path to economic and social development.
