Rhino with bullet injuries recovering
Chitwan / Aug 25: A rare one-horned rhino which was found with six bullet injuries at a forest of Rautahat district is recovering now.
The male rhino aged around 15 years was rescued and taken to Janakauli forest nearby Sauraha by the Chitwan National Park (CNP) on August 21. With due care and treatment, the injured rhino is regaining its life and has increased its activities, informed the CNP sources.
A technical team comprising CNP and Nepal Army personnel is providing care and treatment to the rhino in Sauraha. A team has been deputed to monitor the situation of wounded rhino round the clock, said CNP Chief Ram Chandra Kandel.
“The rhino could not even move in the beginning”, shared Information Officer of CNP Nurendra Aryal, adding that, “Now the rhino has developed its stamina to move around the area and take its foods”.
It may be noted that the poachers had shot at the rhino in the night on last August 20 for smuggling purposes. RSS
