Landslide at different places in Taplejung, Mechi highway obstructed

Taplejung / Sept 3: Landslide has been taking place at Taplejung Municipality-2 and 8 following heavy rainfall from the last night. Dozens of houses have been damaged and transport service has been disrupted along Mechi highway due to landslides at many places.

Houses belonging to Bhuwanishankar Nepal, Agni Prasad Bhandari, Teknath Dahal, Dilliram Adhikari, Raj Kumar Magar, Jagat Bahadur Magar, Guru Prasad BK, Som Bahadur BK and Gangamaya Bhattarai of Taplejung Municipality-8have sustained damages due to the landslide.

Similarly, landslide damaged six houses at Taplejung Municipality-2 including of Netra Prasad Bhattarai, said locals.

Likewise, 10 houses of coffee houses near Taplejung Municipality-9 have also been damaged due to the landslide taking place from 1:00 am.

Chief District Officer, Chakrapani Pandey said that although the landslide has damaged many houses at different places, no human casualty has been reported yet. RSS
