ADB projects Nepal’s economic growth rate at 4.8 % this year

ADBKathmandu / Sept 16: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has projected Nepal’s economic growth rate at 4.8 % in the current fiscal year.

At a press meet here Friday, ADB has unveiled its projection regarding Nepal’s achievable growth rate. According to the projection, the contribution of agriculture sector would stand at 0.7 per cent while it would be 1 per cent from industrial and productive sectors and 3 per cent from service sector.

However, the government in its budget speech for the current fiscal has estimated to achieve 6.5 per cent economic growth in this year.

Speaking on the occasion, ADB Country Director Kenichi Yokoyama called on all sides concerned to put efforts for the implementation of the budget, underlining the need of increasing capital spending. RSS
