Peace process incomplete until conflict victims get justice

Khuman-rights-for-all-humans-is-rightathmandu / Sept 21: People at a programme in the capital city on Wednesday viewed that peace process could not complete until conflict victims got justice.

At the programme organised by the Human Rights and Peace Society (HURPES) on ‘completion of peace process and guarantee of justice to victims’, they stressed the need for rehabilitating conflict victims and providing them with necessary reliefs.

On the occasion, founding President of the HURPES Krishna Pahadi said that impunity has been the centre of separate agreements struck lately between Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN-UML and Maoist Centre. “So this has cast doubt on the fact that the victims will get justice,” he said.

Similarly, pointing out the need of collective initiatives to end violence and establish peace, NC lawmaker Yagya Bahadur Thapa said such move would help ensure bright future of democracy.

HURPES President Gangadhar Adhikari expressed concern over the incidents of bomb explosions at various places of Kathmandu Valley lately. RSS
