NHRC team in Dhading to investigate the pulling down of radio building

NHRCDhading / Sept 25: A team from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has arrived Dhading to investigate the reports of the bulldozing of Radio Dhadhing office by the District Forest Office two days ago.

The NHRC’s action follows complaints that DFO officials including District Forest Officer misbehaved with women in the course of destroying the building of the radio and a building housing a women security office.

The team will inspect the incident site, meet victims and authorities concerned and inquire about the incident, NHRC investigation officer Nitu Gartaula said.

Earlier, a journalists’ team led by the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC), Nepal conducted an investigation into the incident. The report will be made public in Kathmandu today, said Association Vice President Bishnu Hari Dhakal. RSS
