President wishes for the success of World Buddhist Conference

BuddhaKathmandu / Sept 29:President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said the Buddhism is not just a religion, but a way of life dedicated to spiritual advancement of entire humanity.

In a message of best wishes for all success of the 28th general conference of the world fellowship of Buddhists, the 19th general conference of the world fellowship of Buddhist youths and the 10th meeting of the world Buddhist university council being held in Seoul from September 26-30, the President said Lord Buddha, an immortal son of our country born in Lumbini in southern Nepal was a staunch advocate of world peace, fraternity and non violence.

The President said she was very impressed with the theme of the 28th general conference of the world fellowship of Buddhists that is “Buddhism is daily life, daily life of Buddhists “.

Nepal is doing its best to promote conservation and development of Lumbini as an international peace city and a pilgrimage center for all Buddhists and those who believe in the fundamentals of peace and stability that were so close to Lord Buddha’s heart, the President stated in the message.

It may be noted that Nepal hosted the 4th and 15th General Conferences of the World Fellowship of Buddhists in the past. RSS
