Demand to form a commission to ensure rights of working class

Labor, Foreign EmploymentKathmandu / Oct 1: The General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT) has demanded the government form a commission to ensure rights of working class.

The demand was made public at a press conference organized in the Capital on Saturday.

Other demands include increment in salary of workers engaging in informal sectors and arrangement for giving them ration card, offerering life insurance and providing small entrepreneurs loan without collateral.

Likewise, the agreement struck between the labour organisation and the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry should be implemented at the earliest, they demanded.

Speaking at the event, former regional administrator Lalit Bahadur Thapa stressed the need for the government to focus on the demands raised for the welfare of workers. RSS
