First Tiger Festival kicks off

tigerBhimduttanagar/ Oct 26: The ‘First Tiger Festival-2073 BS’ kicked off at Dodhara Chandani municipality of Kanchanpur on Tuesday. The festival has the slogan of ‘Save Tigers; Prevent Wildlife Poaching’.

Chief Conservation Officer at Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve, Bed Kumar Dhakal inaugurated the festival organized by the Sagarmatha Buffer Zone Users Committee to create public awareness on tiger conservation.

The three-day festival would help sensitize people at local level to save tigers and check poaching and smuggling of wildlife.

The festival would also feature various cultural performances. The activism on part of various buffer zone users committee under the Shuklaphanta Reserve – which is popular as tiger populated area of the country – has significantly contributed towards conserving wildlife. RSS
