Bangladesh downs Nepal in ACC Women Asia Cup T20 cricket
Kathmandu / Nov 29: Nepal faced a 92-run defeat to Bangladesh in the third match held under the ongoing ACC Women Asia Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament held in Thailand today.
The match took place at the Asian Institute of Technology cricket ground in Bangkok. This is Nepal’s third defeat in a row in the tournament. In the first match Nepal were defeated by Pakistan by nine wickets and by Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the second match.
Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first, making 133 runs in 20 overs losing all its wickets and posing a 134-run target before Nepal. Nepal were all-out in 17.3 overs and could make only 41 runs.
No other Nepali batswoman except opener Sita Rana could make double digit runs. Suta made 15 runs. Fahima Khatun of Bangladesh hauled four wickets while Nahida Akhter two wickets in limiting Nepal.
Sanjida Islam collected 35 runs, Nagar Sultan 39 runs, Saheela Sarmin 19 runs and skipper Rumana Ahamid 17 runs for Bangladesh.
Sangita Rai took two wickets and captain Rubina Chhetri and Sita Magar one wicket each for Nepal. Nepal will take on the hosts Thailand in its fourth match on December 1. RSS
