Ministry’s directive for prompt reconstruction of cultural heritage

heritageKathmandu / Dec 10: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has shown concern on the reconstruction of the earthquake-damaged cultural heritage monuments.

Making an inspection of the Hanumandhoka Durbar Area here today, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Jeevan Bahadur Shahi instructed the bodies concerned to speed up the reconstruction of the cultural and historical monuments that suffered damage due to the earthquake.

He underlined the need of completing the reconstruction of the damaged structures in time and that any delay on the reconstruction under any pretext would not be acceptable to him.

After the inspection, the Minister acquired information on the progress of reconstruction works on different structures going on there.

The body responsible for the reconstruction works informed Minister Shahi that reconstruction of the Kasthamandap and Jaisidewal temples that suffered the most damage due to the earthquake among the various historical structures in the Hanumandhoka complex was moving on fast pace. RSS
