Hindu children learning Urdu and Arabic languages

sanskritPalpa / Dec 25: A Madrasa established at Islampur in Rampur Municipality – 6 for the Muslim community is now taking in admission of children from the Hindu community.

The Sunnat Primary School was established for preserving the language of the Muslim community. Now the Hindu kids are learning Urdu and Arabic languages. This fiscal year a total of 45 students were admitted at the school and among them 10 are Hindus. The school, which was established in 2010, runs classes from kindergarten to grade three.

The school has two official posts of teachers and four teachers on private resources. Principal, Nagendra Kafle, said that children from the other communities were given more priority than the Muslim community in distribution of scholarship and educational materials.

Abdul Jabbar, a specialised teacher in Urdu and Arabic languages, said teaching the languages to children of non-Muslim communities was harder. “The children are curious to learn, but it is difficult for the teacher and the student alike to teach and learn Urdu and Arabic languages as the second language,” Jabbar confided.

The school has 25 children in kindergarten, three in grade one, 12 in grade two and seven in grade three. RSS
