Nepal Infrastructure Summit-2017 concludes
Kathmandu / Feb 20: The two-day-long Nepal Infrastructure Summit-2017 concluded on Monday with intensive discussions on public-private partnership, infrastructure situation, investment-friendly environment, flexible financial system and green infrastructure.
The Summit mainly focused on agriculture, energy, transport and infrastructure development.
The organizers said that the event turned fruitful to promote the donors for boosting up investment and develop investment-friendly environment.
In his closing remarks, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Bimalendra Nidhi said that the government has the policy to encourage the private sector as the major agent for infrastructure development. He also said that the government was committed to ensure security of the investment.
Likewise, Chief Secretary Dr Somlal Subedi said that the government was working to attract the private sector and the donors for infrastructure development as it was needed for economic prosperity.
Similarly, Chairman of CNI Hari Bhakta Sharma said that the private sector was excited to move ahead by forging collaboration with the government adding that political stability and investment-friendly environment was needed for country’s prosperity.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Kulman Ghising has been honoured as the ‘Best Contributor in the Infrastructure of the Year’ for his outstanding contribution to infrastructure development. RSS
