Big 3 hold meeting to discuss second phase of local polls
Kathmandu / Jun 13: The major three political parties are holding a meeting to discuss the contemporary issues at the Speaker’s Office in Singhadarbar this evening.
In the meeting, the top leaders would be discussing on conducting the second phase of local level elections on a stipulated date, June 28, in provinces 1,2,5 and 7.
The leaders also talked about taking the agitating Rastriya Janata Party Nepal on board the second phase of local polls in the Tarai region.
Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Seuba, Deputy Prime Ministers Bijay Kumar Gachhadar and Janardan Sharma, CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Deputy Parliamentary Party leader Subash Nembang, and senior NC leader Ram Chandra Paudel among others were present in the meeting.
RJP-N have recently announced to disrupt and foil the second phase of civic polls in the Tarai ragion if their demands are not met. They have demanded to increase local bodies in the region withdrawal of fake cases against their cadres and constitution amendment.
They have also announced to launch strong protest programmes on the eve of local polls.
