Election results of 91 local units declared so far

Vote-counting-KathmanduKathmandu / Jul 1: The results of second phase local level elections for 91 out of 334 local units have been declared so far.

The second phase local level elections were held on June 28 in 35 districts of Provinces 1, 5 and 7.

The election results received till 2 pm on Saturday, CPN-UML candidates emerged victorious in 42 local units, while Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) won in 32 and 14 local units respectively.

Similarly, independent candidates have emerged victorious in six local units.

According to the Rastriya Samachar Samiti, the ballot box from Phatalung Rural Municipality of Taplejung is yet to arrive while the counting of votes of Chaurpati rural municipality in Achham district is yet to start due to a dispute among the representatives of various political parties.

The Joint Election Operation Centre (JEOC) said that the counting of votes has been halted at Buddhishakti Rural Municipality-1 in Jhapa and in Bardaghat Municipality-12 of Nawalparasi districts.

Likewise, the counting of votes at Banganga-2 in Kapilvastu has been halted since last night.
