Government serious to resolve workers’ problems: Labor Minister

Labor, Foreign EmploymentKathmandu / July 2: Minister for Labor and Employment Farmullah Mansur has expressed the government’s seriousness to resolve the problems of laborers.

He said this at a program organized here today by the Kathmandu Chapter of Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC) to mark the 94th birth anniversary of Girija Prasad Koirala.

The NTUC Chapter organized the program to honor the grade 10 graduate children of laborers.

On the occasion, the Minister further said that, “The government is sensitive to resolve the woes of laborers as the ruling party Nepali Congress is respectful to this section of people”.

The onus of responsibility for the implementation of the Constitution has come to the shoulder of NC as the historic party did for its promulgation, Minister Mansur added.

NTUC Central Treasurer Yogendra Kunwar said the constitution promulgation in Nepal was an outcome of the workers’ struggle so the state should not overlook the issues of laborers.

NTUC leader Surya Nepal said the NC was established on the foundation of labor movement so the party should ever be sensitive to the workers’ woes.

Also speaking on the occasion, NTUC Kathmandu Chapter President Ganesh Bhattarai called for the formation of laborers’ commission for the resolve of challenges being faced by the labor section.

Some 32 grade 10 graduate children were felicitated on the occasion. RSS
