Minister Sharma urges immigration officials to keep national interest in center

janardan-sharmaKathmandu/ July 3: Minister for Home Affairs Janardan Sharma has directed the immigration officials to keep the national interest in center as the immigration department was the first door to enter into the nation and last door to those who leave the nation.

While making the Immigration Mobile App public here in the capital today, Minister Sharma said that he had received the informal report that some officials conduct the works by keeping the personal interest in the centre adding that if it was genuine then it would not be acceptable to him.

He opined that the immigration service reflects the nation in external world therefore; the officials working there should not be guided by personal benefit. He added that the immigration service was too sensitive from the perspective of security therefore the employees should maintain transparency and keep national interest in topmost priority.

Minister Sharma further shared that he had implemented the reform programmes in the Ministry to make its service people friendly. He further ordered the officials to make the immigration service paperless.

It is stated that the App was developed to make the immigration service prompt and effective in all 10 immigration offices across the country.

Similarly, the department director general Ganga Ram Gelal shared that the service seekers can apply for visa and can file their complaints through the App.

The App will provide different information regarding the immigration services to the service seekers, Gelal added. RSS
