Local level basis of economic prosperity: DPM Mahara

krishna-baharud-mahara1Ratnagar / July 10: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said that the local levels stand as a foundation of economic prosperity of the country.

Elections have paved the door to economic prosperity and local levels have a multi-dimensional role to play in this regard, he said.

Addressing the 18th annual general meeting of Ratnanagar Chamber of Commerce in Chitwan today, DPM Mahara, who is also ex-finance minister, expressed the confidence that the conclusion of all the three tiers of election would help the economic development take huge strides. “Development of village and towns is the basis of prosperity, local levels have sufficient budget,” he said while adding all should work to make the villages prosperous.

As Nepal is rich in resources, DPM Mahara said with a national vision Nepal could develop faster than other countries. Attention to creating investment-friendly atmosphere and boosting domestic production would lead the country towards prosperity.

Revival of 200 industries, that had remained closed, in the previous year was a positive message for the nation’s prosperity, he added. Chairperson of Ratnanagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gyan Bahadur Bisural shed light on the financial condition and industrial activities of the district. RSS
