Resolution proposal tabled in parliament to curb corruption

Parliament BuildingKathmandu / Sept 1: While the state is keeping mum about a billion-rupee misappropriation scam ‘committed’ by Managing Director of the country’s oil supplies monopoly Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Gopal Khadka, a proposal of resolution has been submitted in the parliament on Friday.

Lawmaker Janakraj Joshi has submitted the resolution proposal in the parliament today in line with Rule 99 to 108 under Section 15 of Legislature Parliament Regulations 2073, to curb the existing corruption in the county.

“Executive, Legislature and Judiciary have not become free from corruption,” reads the proposal, “ the anti-graft bodies remained helpless to curb the corruption especially those taking place in the field of politics due to lack of power balance and selfish-intent.”

Lawmakers Narasingh Chaudhary, Ankal Ahamad Sah, Harkabol Rai, Anita Kumari Pariyar have signed the proposal. The proposal has been submitted demanding action against those corrupt officials in accordance with Rule 108 of Parliament Regulations 2073.
