Nepal off to Malaysia to participate in Youth Asia Cup
Kathmandu / Nov 7: Nepal U-19 Cricket Team is set to travel Malaysia tonight at 1130 PM Nepali Standard Time to participate in the ACC U19 Youth Asia Cup 2017 to be held at Kuala Lumpur from 8th – 20th November 2017.
The ACC Under-19 Asia Cup is a cricket tournament organized by the Asian Cricket Council, designed as an effort to grow cricket within the emerging nations using tournaments with test nations as a platform for improvement. Mr. Sultan Rana, the ACC Events & Development Manager concurs that ACC holds the opportunity for emerging cricket nations to “practice, prepare and improve their skills” to go against professional cricket nations.
The squad will consist of 15 members which toured Bangladesh featuring in 3-match practice tour. Nepal lost the U-19 one-day series 2-1. The playing squad will be accompanied by the 5-m3n support staff led by Head Coach Binod Coach and Batting Consultant Monty Desai.
Squad: Dipendra Singh Airee (C), Sandeep Lamichhane, Aasif Sheikh, Anil Kumar Sah, Pawan Sarraf, Sandeep Sunar, Rohit Kumar Paudel, Kishor Mahato, Pranit Thapa Magar, Shahab Alam, Kamal Singh Airee, Prakash KC , Jitendra Singh, Bhim Sharki and Rashid Khan.
Officials: Raman Shiwakoti (Manager/Technical Analyst), Binod Das (Head Coach), Kalam Ali (Assistant Coach), Murgang Jagdish (Monty) Desai (Batting Consultant) and Dinesh Bhatta (Physio).
Nepal is set to face Bangladesh on November 11 at Kinrara Oval cricket ground. Similarly, they will play India on 12th and home team Malaysia on 14th November respectively in Group A.
