CPN-UML maintains lead in PR elections; UML chair Oli-MC chair Dahal meet
Kathmandu / Dec 15: The CPN-UML, which has topped the first-past-the-post (FTTP) vote to the House of Representatives, is still leading vote count in proportional representation (PR) system by a margin of 75,000 votes.
As per the information received from Information System Management Section at the Election Commission, the CPN-UML has so far secured 3.058 million votes followed by the Nepali Congress which managed to attain 2.98 million votes.
imilarly, the CPN Maoist Centre has garnered 1.23 million votes while Federal Socialist Forum obtained 443,000 votes.
Likewise, according to EC, Rastriya Janata Party is in the fourth position with 427,000 votes as well as Bibeksheel Sajha Party has secured 209,000 votes, according to the EC.
A total of 9.12 million votes cast to the House of Representatives under PR system have been counted so far, EC informed.
UML chair Oli-MC chair Dahal meet
Meanwhile, a meeting held between the CPN-UM chair KP Sharma Oli and CPN (Maoist Center) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the capital on Friday.
According to chair Dahal’s press coordinator Manhari Timilsina, matters related to current political developments, party unification process, formation of new government and national assembly were discussed in the meeting.
The meeting also concluded that the federal and provincial parliamentary elections were successfully completed and the left alliance of the two parties made fruitful results, Timilsina added.
Timilsina further shared that both the leaders drew a conclusion to forward the process of forming a new government and party unification process successfully. RSS
