Rupandehi sawmill owner shot dead
Kathmandu / Jan 5: A man was shot dead by a group of unidentified persons in a sawmill at Dhekar in Devdaha Municipality of Rupandehi district today.
The deceased has been identified as the sawmill owner Basanta Paudel (38) aka Bablu of Devdaha Municipality-2 in Rupandehi district.
A group of unidentified persons appeared out of nowhere and fired several shots at Paudel from a pistol, critically injuring him in his chest, at the mill at around 11:00 am today, according to District Police Office, Rupandehi. Paudel was sitting at the mill when he was shot, said police.
Injured Paudel was rushed to the Butwal-based Lumbini Zonal Hospital where he succumbed to injuries, said the DPO.
Meanwhile, the DPO has undertaken the investigation while a police team has been deployed to the incident site in search of clues.
