Human Organ Transplant Centre begins angiography, angioplasty

Human OrganBhaktapur / Jan 17 : The Human Organ Transplant Centre, Bhaktapur has started angiography and angioplasty services.

Angiography is a medical imaging technique used to visualize the inside of blood vessels and organs of the body, while angioplasty is a surgical repair or unblocking of a blood vessel, especially a coronary artery.

Today, an 11-member team of doctors led by senior cardiologist Dr Yadav Dev Bhatta performed angiography for free on two patients (Bimala Neupane, 50, of Suryabinayak Municipality-4, and Astalal Dangol, 37, of Madhyapur Thimi), the first patients for the test.

Talking to media-persons after the successful test, Dr Bhatta stressed the need for expanding the service also outside the Kathmandu valley.

“The number of heart patients is on the rise day by day. The service should be expanded to other districts too,” he said. RSS
