‘All kinds of security strategy to be adopted for NA election’; Preparations from central level for NA poll near final phase
Kathmandu / Jan 22: The meeting of the High-Level Security Committee has decided to adopt all kinds of security strategy to guarantee peace and security for upcoming national assembly election (NA) slated for February 7.
According to Election Commission (EC) spokesperson, Navraj Dhakal, the meeting chaired by the EC commissioner Sudhir Kumar Shah today, concluded to move ahead by preparing a necessary strategy and action plan to hold the election in a decent manner.
Speaking in the meeting chief election Commissioner Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav had extended thanks to all security bodies for their cooperation in holding recent federal and provincial elections peacefully.
Commissioner Shah urged the security bodies to maintain prompt security.
Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Mohan Krishna Sapkota shared the action plan prepared by the Ministry for the election.
On the occasion, Election Commissioners, EC Secretary Begendra Raj Sharma Poudel, Defense Ministry Secretary Binod KC, Nepal Army Lieutenant General Purna Chandra Thapa, Inspector General of Nepal Police Prakash Aryal, Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Nepal Singha Bahadur Shrestha and Chief Investigation Director of the National Investigation Department Dilip Raj Regmi were also present. Preparations from central level for NA poll near final phase
Meanwhile, Central-level preparations for the National Assembly (NA) election slated for February 7 have reached the final phase.
EC Commissioner Ishwari Prasad Poudyal said the necessary preparations required to be made from the central level for the upcoming election has neared the final phase. He said this while inaugurating an orientation on ‘integrated election information management system’ organised by the EC for technical human resources to be deputed in all seven provinces for the election purpose here today. Regulations and guidelines required for conducting the election have already been prepared, according to him.
A total of 15 technicians are attending the programme.
Similarly, the EC has scheduled training on the issues pertaining the NA election such as election preparations, weightage of vote, vote counting method and process to representatives of political parties tomorrow. RSS
