YogaKathmandu / Feb 27: The Second South Asian Yoga Sports Competition is being organized in Pokhara.

The Yoga Sports Associations from Asia, South Asia and Nepal are jointly organizing the competition in Pokhara on 21-23 Baisakh 2075.

Yoga Sports Association Nepal’s treasurer and coordinator of the publicity committee, Maniraj Kunwar ‘Yogi Shantidoot’ informed that the competition was being organized to create public awareness of yoga relating it to sports.

The competition would be attended by the people from Nepal, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The Association registered at the National Sports Council a year back had organized similar competition in Itahari a month back.

Various yoga rules would be explained and practices during the competition.

The organizing committee has further said that as the yoga was recognized by the World Health Organization and the UN, the publicity on it was imperative.

It is believed that the yoga was propounded by Lord Shiva and gradually transferred to the hermits, sages/ascetics and the common people. RSS
