11 metric tonnes garbage managed from valley rivers, ring road

Bagmati cleaning CampaignKathmandu / Mar 24: As high as 11 metric tonnes of garbage was managed from the rivers and ring road in the capital city on Saturday as part of the weekly cleanup campaigns.

With today’s campaign, the Bagmati Cleanup Campaign entered its 254th week and three metric tonnes of garbage was collected from the river near Ghuheswhori temple in the Pashupati area.

Personnel of security bodies, High-Powered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee, representatives of different social organizations took part on the occasion.

Despite the festival of Ram Nawami, a huge number of locals and campaigners took part in the cleanup missions today as well.

Likewise, one metric tonne of garbage was managed from the Bagmati river up above the Guheshwori temple, chairman of Pudasaini Friendship Society Uttam Pudasaini said.

Similarly, Rudramati cleanup campaign has entered 209th week and three metric tonnes of garbage was managed and an awareness raising event was organized in the premises of Ram Mandir in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32.

Former Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police Bigyan Raj Sharma and other campaigners joined the event.

Similarly, Bishnumati river cleanup campaign entered 180th week while Ring Road cleanup campaign in 50th week.

Furthermore, one metric tonne of garbage was managed after the cleanup campaign in Aloknagar in Minbhawan area that entered the 50th week today.

Meanwhile, three metric tonne of garbage was collected from the cleanup activities in Balaju area from the ring road cleanup campaign, coordinator of Ring Road Cleanup Campaign Tara Bahadur Kunwar said. RSS
