Eleven bridges constructed in Myagdi district this year

Myagdi, July 20: As many as 2,500 households have been benefitted with the construction of 11 suspension bridges at various places in Myagdi district this year.

The construction of the bridges has not only eased travel to the locals but has also helped promote tourism in these areas.

Among the 11 suspension bridges constructed in the district this year is the 365.8 metres long bridge at Raghuganga rural municipality-1. This is the longest suspension bridge in the country and was built at a total cost of Rs 27 million 990 thousand 100. This bridge was constructed by the District Technical Office, Myagdi.

The remaining 10 bridges are constructed by the District Technical Office, the Trail Bridge Support Unit (TBSU), SWAP, local levels, communities and local NGOs. The total cost of these 10 bridges is Rs 300 million 439 thousand 464. A population of 14,546 of 2,503 households has been benefitted from these bridges. RSS
