PM vows to implement transport and transit agreement signed with China

Kathmandu, July 29: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has pledged to implement the transport and transit agreement signed with China during his first premiership soon. The PM said so during a meeting with Chinese Assistant Minister for External Affairs Wang Yajun held in the capital on Sunday.

PM Oli said that the agreement on transport and transit signed between Nepal and China some two years ago would be taken to a conclusion soon. “Nepal being a landlocked nation, we want to increase our access to sea through this agreement,” the PM said.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli extended an invitation to Chinese President Xi Jinping for Nepal visit. “High level visit is also necessary to further strengthen our relations. We are hurried to welcome the Chinese President and Chinese Prime Minister in Nepal in the near future,” PM Oli added.

On the occasion, Assistant External Affairs Minister for China Wang said that this was very appropriate time to expand Nepal-China relations and added that China was hurried to implement the agreements signed between Nepal and China during PM Oli’s China visit taken last year.

Wang said the government to government relations and people to people relation should be made harmonious and that it should be used for the interests of both the countries. RSS
