Asia Cup Cricket: 19 cricketers selected

Nepali cricket NedKathmandu / Aug 9: The probable athletes to represent Nepal in the Asia Cup cricket tournament 2018 have been announced.

Altogether 19 cricketers have been selected in the preliminary list finalized by head coach Jagat Tamata and captain Paras Khadka. Those selected include Anil Kumar Shah, Basant Regmi, Binod Bhandari, Dipendra Singh Aiyre, Gyanendra Malla, Karan KC, Kishore Mahato, Lalit Singh Bhandari, Lalit Narayan Rajbansi, Arif Sheikh, Pradip Aiyre, Rohit Kumar Poudel, Sagar Pun, Sandip Lamichhane, Sompal Kami, Subas Khakurel, Sunil Dhamala and Sushan Bhari.

Among the 19, fifteen will be selected to play for Nepal in the qualifying matches leading to the main tournament being held in the UAE from September 15. Nepal will compete with the UAE, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Oman to vie for the last seat in the tournament. The winner of the tournament will be grouped together with India and Pakistan.

The qualifying matches are being held in Malaysia from August 27. RSS
