KMC operates senior citizens recreation center

Kathmandu MetropolitionKathmandu / Aug 13: The Kathmandu Metropolitan city has established senior citizen recreation and day care centre at ward 23 of the metropolis. The service centre came into operation three months back, has attracted the senior citizens.

Various musical instruments including harmonium, tabala, flute, madal, drums among other instruments are kept in the center.

Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya shared that such centre would be extended at other places to engage the senior citizens in a group creating harmonious and friendly environment.

About 70 senior citizens daily gather and exchange the feeling among the elderly friends. The centre also provides the health check up services to the senior citizens.

The ward chair Macharaja Maharjan added that the ward office was planning to organize the holey journey to the elderly people in each three months. RSS
