Desh ra Parivesh poetic collection released

Poem ReleaseKathmandu / Sept 1: Desh ra Parivesh is a poetic collection by Dr. Surendra Sitaula. The collection has 52 poems on various contemporary themes ranging from the state, society, history, politics, education and philosophy. It addresses different issues of Nepal from history to till date. At the heart of all the poems lie Nepal and its society. A professor of science for long and involved in education sector, Dr. Sitaula has many poems published to his name, but this is the first in the form of a collection.

In this poetic collection, the themes range from nation and nationality, independence, happiness, dreams, history, identity, migration, education, election, sexuality, journey, war among others.

Personalities from various sectors were present at the program. The program was organized by Bagmati Boarding School, Sukedhara, Kathmandu.

The chief guest of the program and Chancellor of Nepal Academy, Ganga Prasad Upreti remarked that the poems in the collection has portrayed the social, economic, political, cultural and educational context of Nepal based on his professional and individual experience. Poet Dr. Sitaula remarked that it was with the observation of the society and the contemporary time that have been wrought in this poetic collection. Litterateur Ashesh Malla, Prof. Dr. Badri Bishal Bhattarai and media-person Ramesh Khadka presented a short review of the collection.

On this collection, Rastrakavi Madhav Prasad Ghimire has written — in the poems in this collection, Sitaula is warning the nation in clear and touching way.
