Saaf Championship: Nepal defeat Bhutan 4-0

SAFF ChampionshipKathmandu / Sept 6: Nepal has thrashed Bhutan by 4-0 goals. In its second match of the group stage of the SAFF Championship Suzuki Cup 2018 being held at Bangabandhu national stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Thursday, Nepal opened its score at the 21st minute of the first half as Ananta Tamang struck a goal for the country using a header.

Bimal Gharti Magar missed the penalty received after foul in the 70th minute. But Sunil Bal utilized the ball bounced back and scored the second goal for Nepal. Bharat Khawas scored the third goal for the country in the 79th minute and Nirajan Khadka scored in 88th minute. Both Khawas and Khadka were not in the first squad.

Nepal stands third in position in the scoreboard. Now Nepal will face Bangladesh on Saturday. Earlier in the first group stage match of the ongoing SAFF Championship held on Tuesday, Nepal lost to Pakistan 1-2.

Nepal, host country Bangladesh, Bhutan and Pakistan are in group ‘A’ while India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives are in group ‘B’.
