IGP Khanal directs for smooth traffic management

police logoKathmandu / Sept 9: Inspector General of Nepal Police, Sarbendra Khanal, has directed the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division to make the traffic management effective and smooth by behaving well with pedestrians, drivers and riders.

During his inspection at the Division this morning, IGP asked the Division to devise work plan and implement it accordingly, so that people would not suffer much with the traffic movement in the Kathmandu Valley.

According to the Transport Management Department, there are 3.2 million vehicles across the country while the Kathmandu Valley alone has 800 thousand.

The IGP further viewed time has come for traffic police to work as per people’s need and aspiration ensuring manageable traffic. Khanal was the Chief of the Division before he was promoted to the top post of the Nepal Police.

On the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Nepal Police and Division Chief Basanta Raj Pant apprised IGP Khanal of the Division activities. RSS
