Children’s workshop on coding and art

Children ArtKathmandu / Sept 15: Learning Labs, a child-centric art workshop, is slated to take place in two rounds at the end of September. Organised by the Children’s Art Museum of Nepal, a child-friendly space designed to introduce kids and young adults to various art practices, the workshops will take place from September 22-29 and September 23-30.

“Participating children will learn how to work collaboratively, take initiative, become curious, think critically and be socially and culturally aware,” the organisers stated in a release. The courses are intensive and are customised specifically for children between the ages of six and ten. “Each Learning Lab is customised especially so children will find them interesting, fun and also educational. These tailored courses are based on cutting-edge research and integrate science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) for a unique learning experience.”

The upcoming courses called ‘Learning Labs, Coding and Robotics’ will lead participating children through procedures that teach coding and how to work with algorithms.

The participants will be using Dash robots, which are child-friendly robots created specifically to introduce advanced concepts of coding through playful projects where the robot can dance, sing, and play music based on code created by the participating children. Source: The Kathmandu Post
