Nepal beat Bhutan by 117 runs in World Twenty20 qualifier
Kathmandu / 09 Oct: Nepal won the fourth match against Bhutan by 117 runs in the ICC World Twenty20 Asia Region Qualifier B, at Bangi, Selangor in Malaysia today.
Nepal played against minnows Bhutan after moving to the top of the Group B defeating hosts Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand. Nepal had set the target of 151 while Bhutan were all out for 33 runs in 16.4 overs.
With the victory, Nepal secured eight points from four games while Bhutan have two points from four matches. Bhutan registered victory in one game while losing three.
Nepal faced Bhutan after 12 years.
The Nepal line-up comprised Paras Khadka (captain), Anil Kumar Saha, Basanta Regmi, Binod Bhandari, Dipendra Singh Airee, Gyanendra Malla. Karan KC, Lalit Singh Bhandari, Llait Narayan Rajbanshi, Aarif Shekh, Pradip Airee, Sandip Lamichhane, Sharad Bheswakar and Sompal Kami.
Jagat Tamata is the chief coach, Dinesh Bhatta is the physician and Raman Shiwakoti is the manager of the Nepali team.
Pradeep Airee has been picked as ‘Player of the Match’.
Nepal will be playing against China on Wednesday and against Singapore on Friday in its last match of the qualifier tournament.
