Paragliding World Cup to be held in November in Nepal

paraglidingSyangja / Oct 17: A paragliding world cup championship is to be organised from November 1 to 4 at the Swarek ground of Bhirkot Municipality-5 in Syangja district.

Nepal Paragliding Association, Nepal Air Sports Association and Babu Adventure Club, Syangja are jointly organising the event in collaboration with the District Coordination Committee, Syangja.

General-Secretary of Nepal Paragliding Association and General-Secretary and Programme Coordinator of Hand-gliding Association, Shailendra Rawat, said that the paragliding world cup is taking place for the first time in Nepal. He said it was a pride for the state as well as the players.

Coordinator of the paragliding competition main management committee, Sita Sundas, believed that the championship would help enhance Syangja district’s identity across the globe. Also chief of the District Coordination Committee, she said the championship would be an important occasion for publicising the possibility of air sports in the country at an international level.

It is believed that the paragliding world cup championship will play a significant role in introducing the Aandhikhola Valley aviation zone of the district to the world. RSS
