Kaligandaki corridor brightens Nepalis’ fortune: Minister Gyawali

pradeep-gyawaliGaslkot / Feb 2: Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Gyawali, has said the Kaligandaki corridor would brighten Nepalis’ fortune. The corridors linking two major economies of the world bears significance, he underscored.

Minister Gyawali said this while inaugurating the broadening of Baglung section of the Kaligandaki corridor today. The completion of the corridor would be helpful to attract huge influx of tourists from both India and China.

On the occasion, Finance Minister Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada viewed the government has prioritized the Kaligandaki corridor, which is a national pride project. There would not be any shortage of resources to accomplish the project, he assured.

According to him, the corridor is important not only from religious viewpoints but also from tourism and economic development.

For upgrading the Kaligandaki corridor, government has allocated Rs 200 million budget. The amount would be divided equally to the upgrading at Baglung and Gulmi sections.

Nepal Army has been assigned the task by the Road Department to complete it by coming mid July. RSS
