Justice Deepak Raj Joshee hands in resignation to President

deepak-joshiKathmandu / Feb 19: Senior-most Justice Deepak Raj Joshee today has tendered his resignation to the President through Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana.

CJ Rana had removed Justice Joshee from senior ranking, judicial council and constitutional council to bring Justice Hari Krishna Karki in his place. He had vowed not to assign any case to the senior-most justice, just minutes after he assumed charge on January 2.

Despite Joshee’s name being forwarded for the post of Chief Justice for the second time, the Parliamentary Hearing Committee had rejected his nomination through voting process after he failed to give satisfactory answers to questions posed by lawmakers about his conduct, integrity and capability.
