No shortage of cooking gas: NOC

Kathmandu / Mar 4:The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) on Monday said that current import of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders is sufficient to meet the demand and urged consumers not to run after rumours of cooking gas shortage.

In this backdrop, the NOC has asked consumers, not to panic-buy cooking gas.

The statement from the state-owned enterprise comes at a time when LPG bottlers have announced protest programmes demanding a revision in the rate of commission. Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to resolve a row between NOC and suppliers, with no logical conclusion to the issue in sight.

According to NOC spokesperson Birendra Goit, NOC has imported 35,754 metric tonnes of cooking gas in February. RSS
