Budget not discriminatory: Finance Minister Khatiwada

Kathmandu / July 5: Finance Minister Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada on Friday clarified that the recently unveiled budget for the fiscal year 2019/20 has not discriminated against anyone.

“The budget is socialism-oriented. It has not discriminated against any particular area, sector and state,” he said responding to queries raised during a discussion on the Appropriation Bill in the National Assembly’s meeting. He also called for all to come together to make the country prosperous instead of blaming each other.

The budget focuses on education and health has been distributed proportionally and on human development index, he said, adding that new projects were initiated with the due procedure for state and local levels. The Minister also expressed hope that there would not be difficult in fully enforcing the budget as the implementation of development projects start right from the beginning of this FY- the Nepali month of Shrawan.
