DPM Pokharel calls for strengthening national unity

Kathmandu / July 10: Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwar Pokharel on Wednesday stressed the need for strengthening national unity in the country.

Speaking at an interaction program organized by Madhes Commission in the capital, the minister said that national unity can be further strengthened if people in mountains, hills and Terai plains live in harmony with each other.

“The harmonious relationship among the people of mountain, hills and Terai plains will be equally important for preserving the sovereignty of our country,” he said.

Pokharel urged the Madhes Commission to study the contribution made by the Madhesi people to the preservation of national sovereignty.

He added that Madhesis are true nationalists of the country.
