Development committee approves advertisement bill

Kathmandu / August 21:The Development and Technology Committee under the House of Representatives endorsed the Advertisement (Regulation) Bill on Wednesday.

The Committee meeting approved the Bill with some amendments. Earlier, the National Assembly with some amendments had passed the Bill, stipulating a provision of the enforcement of clean feed policy from the date specified in a notice appeared in the Nepal Gazette.

However, the committee has made a provision of implementing the policy at the earliest. Likewise, the Bill bans advertisements on the telephone and electric poles. Speaking in the meeting, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota said the bill after the passage would regulate unmanaged advertisement system and support the country’s economy.
