NIC urges government to disseminate information on dengue

Kathmandu / Sept 16: National Information Commission on Monday has urged the government to make necessary arrangements regarding the dissemination of information to the public about preventive measures against the pandemic of dengue disease.

Organizing a press meet in the capital, NIC instructed the Ministry for Health and Population to disseminate necessary information about precaution against dengue outbreak among the public at the earliest.

According to the spokesperson Yashoda Devi Timsina, the commission has instructed the ministry after consulting with the authorities from the ministry and a team of physicians.

In a press statement published by the commission, the federal government has been directed to coordinate with all the provincial governments and local levels to spread rightful information to people about the precautionary measures against dengue.

The commission has also urged the government to launch awareness programs through mass media so that people would not have to panic due to lack of right information about dengue, its attack, symptoms and preventive measures, informed Chief Information Commissioner Krishna Hari Baskota.
